Pyrotechnic articles such as fireworks may sometimes be misused or cause accidents. The Pyrotechnics Unit is responsible for the forensic investigation of such cases. In cooperation with the Central Office for Explosives, this unit is responsible for the technical aspects of the approval procedures and monitoring the market for pyrotechnic articles in Switzerland.
