The ZSAS also supports forensic investigations at locations where shots were fired throughout Switzerland. These activities include, among others:
- Reconstruction of shot trajectories (3D reconstruction)
- Shot distance determination using 3D reconstruction or smoke
- Examination and assessment of weapons for their handling safety
